norwood road congestion

RECENT CONGESTION AT HH JUNCTION LAMBETH  RESPONSE

Dear Paul,
Thames Water have been carrying out renewal of the Victorian mains in Norwood Road. The final section of this work was the connection at the junction of Croxted Road requiring 4 way temporary traffic lights.
This work was carried out after consultation and agreement with the Police and Bus Operators. The lights were operating on a timed sequence, a number of different adjustment were made to try to maintain the flow of traffic and minimise delays. This did not substantially improve the situation. After a further meeting on site, Thames Water agreed to appoint an operative to manually control the lights from 7am to 7pm daily. Additionally Thames Water extended working times enabling the work to be completed ahead of schedule. Throughout this work Bus Operators, through Jason Thomas of TFL, were kept informed of progress.
All work at this junction are now completed. Be assured we do monitor major works at intervals throughout the day, working closely with all stakeholders and taking every action possible to minimise disruption.
Please accept my apologies for the delays caused by these essential works.

Many Thanks
