ROSENDALE ROAD SAFETY MEASURES

ROSENDALE ROAD  SAFETY MEASURES.

Jean Bergin   reports  - following a long campaign of lobbying to introduce safety measures in the vicinity of Rosendale Primary school .
Thanks  to Thurlow Park ward Councillor Clare Whelan who has facilitated the process and supported the campaign both as Executive member and opposition spokeswoman.

Thought I would share my good news and excitement.
Had a meeting this morning with Clare Whelan, Hayden Tuck and Tim Jackson about the outstanding safety issues.
Lambeth are proposing a 20mph limit on Rosendale Rd from Norwood Rd to the South Circular.
To put in cycle friendly speed humps (a new design I believe)
To put speed cushions on the section of Rosendale Rd from Lovelace to Turney Roads which is an emergency vehicle route.
To put in a pedestrian crossing at All Saints Church for the nursery users.
To improve the crossing places at the Turney/Dalkeith/Rosendale roundabout.
And finally to finish the yellow lines and school keep clear markings.

I think this is a great result because they have listened and come back with a complete scheme rather than a piecemeal effort. All I have to do is keep up the pressure so it doesn't slip down the priority list. Hayden Tuck said that the planning process and funding applications are about half way through.
