LICENSING
SOUTHWARK CONSIDER HERNE HILL FOR SATURATION POLICY ON LICENSED PREMISES.
However because of a lack of evidence- there have been only two complaints to the noise team in the last five years. It was not consider a suitable case for treatment but would be considered in 6 months. An almost complete lack of an crime statistics especially from the Lambeth didn't help the review.
At a special meeting last night of the licensing committee. the following point s were made.
1. the review took place after only six months.
2. The need for a holistic approach and Southwark have recognised this in the report but
effective inter borough inter agency working is another matter
3. The rapidly changing situation over the last few months and particular the gradual collective awareness to the extent of late night noise and issues of parking and dispersals
in Stradella, Croxted, Guernsey and Hawarden.
4. The noise and disruption in central Herne Hill and in particular the increased customer numbers and external use of gardens attached to pubs and premises and affecting residents in Rymer and Railton.
The direction of the new act is largely objections are not considered valid- perceived
problems from possible changes.
ONLY REGISTERED COMPLAINTS COUNCIL REGARDING ANY INFRINGEMENTS
Police call outs.
In particular in Herne Hill you need o to report to the appropriate borough.
