SHAKESPEARE ROAD SCHOOL

NEW SCHOOL MOVES A FURTHER STAGE FORWARD-  ONE MORE HURDLE.
From Cllr Rachel Heywood

Planning Committee Tuesday 10th April 7pm Lambeth Town Hall
Support needed for our new school – please come along if you can!

I think you will all agree with me in saying that we need more and better schools for our secondary school age children. The new Academy on Shakespeare Road will provide places for 1200 children, offering them improved opportunities to succeed. Whilst most people support a new school, some are unhappy that the dustcarts and other vehicles will have to be relocated from the current site. Planning permission for this move is also being discussed at Tuesday's meeting and there will be protestors against this.

It is therefore really important that people attend to show their support for the Academy on Tuesday evening. If you are able to come please do, or pass this on to others who you think may wish to come along. The Academy is the first item on the agenda so should not go on too late.

I very much hope to see you there. If you have any questions please contact me before Tuesday (email or mobile please) and I will do what I can to answer them.

With best wishes,

Rachel Heywood
