Brixton Recreation Centre - £2.85 million refurbishment

On 1 April 2007, Brixton Recreation Centre closed for three months to allow for the much needed investment of £2.85 million in improved facilities and services for the community.
For more information see the Refurbishment of Brixton Recreation Centre Q&A page.
We are very sorry that we can only give such short notice of the closure. This is because commercially sensitive contract negotiations have been taking place and have only recently concluded. We made the announcement at the earliest possible opportunity. During this time only school groups will be able to use the pool - subject to thorough risk assessment and health and safety checks.

We realise this will cause inconvenience to regular users for which we apologise in advance. During the closure, Lambeth's other leisure centres will remain open and continue to operate as normal.
