Green Flag winners are judged to be welcoming, safe and well maintained with the strong involvement of the local community.

The Green Flag Award Scheme is the only national benchmark for quality parks and green spaces.

Cllr Richard Thomas, Southwark Council's executive member for regeneration, said "This award is of enormous credit to the dedicated friends group and parks staff who work so hard to make Southwark Park such a great open space. It is also a reflection of the importance we place on continually improving and investing in our parks and open spaces."
