YOUTH CRIME- ETHELRED ESTATE FATAL STABBING.
Following the tragic fatal stabbing of a young man last Friday Clr. Mark Bennett the Executive memeber for Community Safety called and emergency meeting of the CDRP ( Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership) to address issue arising from this untimely death.
The reduction of central government funding had lead to planned cuts in the
Summer Youth Provision prgramme for the borough. This has now been reversed and the planned cuts will not take place. One hopes that this incident will help focus attention on the need for the devleopment of enhanced youth provision in the borough.Its a complex business.
