SUMMER ACTIVITIES

If you want to perform in six different London festivals this summer, play either; drums, brass or woodwind or are an
aspiring dancer, Kinetika have a summer school for you.
Kinetika are now recruiting for the 2006 Kinetika Bloco Summer School. This will be the sixth year that Kinetika has
run a carnival summer school.
The Kinetika Bloco based in Lambeth and Southwark is the largest standing youth Bateria in the country and they are
in the process of creating a real tradition of carnival performance and music-making here. This summer school provides
a unique link between music making in school and involvement in the wider community. It gives students the joy of
performance on a large scale with several performance opportunities including participation in the Thames Festival in
September.
Kinetika are looking for: 50 drummers, 40 Brass Players and 30 Dancers to take part.
Dates: 31 July - 11 August and 14 -18 August 2006
Festivals on: 12, 18, 19, 20 & 27 August & 17 September 2006
10am - 4.30pm, Mon - Fri at Queen Elizabeth Hall, South Bank
Application deadline: 7 July 2006
