BRIXTON UNDERGROUND STATION LIFT INSTALLED SAY 18 MONTHS- STILL NOT OPERATIONAL- REPLY FROM TRANSPORT FOR LONDON
I have been asked to reply to the question that you raised at the State ofLondon debate about the lift at Brixton.I am sorry that you are still having to wait to use the lift. Metronet had to make a couple of last minute adjustments, one designed to help visually impaired customers and one to upgrade the emergency telephones. The final tests on the lift are now underway. It will then have to be tested and approved by Her Majesty's Railway Inspectorate. All being well, we expect the lift to go into service by the end of June.Do get back in touch if I can be of any further help.
Yours sincerely
