BIG INCREASE IN OFF PEAK TRAVEL FARES FROM HERNE HILL
ON FIRST CAPITAL CONNECT FORMERLY THAMES LINK.

New Bedford to Brighton rail provider First Capital Connect plans to ban cheap day return ticket holders from travelling home from London between 4.30 and 7pm and will result in massive fare rises listed below and lead to restricted use by off peak travellers. Some peak use commuters might be happy of course, but it seems outrageous to beforcing those who are most prices conscious off the rails. It is anticipates that the number of passengers travelling at peak times would be reduced by around 12 per cent. It is estimated that about 4,000 people will be affected daily The new restrictions will be introduced on June 11 to coincide with the introduction of the summer timetable. This would particularly affect parents taking children out for a day in London and visitors to the city who also wanted a trip to the capital This clearly affects all of us from Bedford to St Albans

London>> Bedford Cheap day return = £16.00 Full peak fare = £30.30
Flitwick Cheap day return = £14.10 Full peak fare = £25.30
Luton Cheap day return £11.30 Full peak fare = £20.80
Harpenden Cheap day return = £9.30 Full peak fare = £18.18 St Albans Cheap day return £7.90 Full peak fare = £14.50
