HERNE HILL Controlled Parking Zone -- variations

The forthcoming Herne Hill Controlled Parking Zone will see parking meters in operation for just two hours per day -- the probable hours are 12 noon to 2 pm Mondays to Fridays. The 20 minute free bays in Stradella and Winterbrook Roads plus Half Moon Lane (Herne Hill end) will become 30 minutes, with a couple of additional stretches (e.g. at the top of Ruskin Walk). The middle of Ruskin Walk and part of Carver Road will have some residents-only bays: otherwise bays are likely to be mixed-use.
Where the residents have residents-only bays visitor passes (currently £1.20 for the first ten, and £3.00 subsequently) are unlikely to be valid during the restriction period. Do check this carefully.
The easing of hours (which Herne Hill Forum campaigned actively for) will benefit traders, visitors to surgeries and local residents who currently have parking difficulties in their own streets.
Lets make Herne Hill (now no longer called Dulwich following the removal of misleading signs) the place to shop!!
