Conditions of governance are substantially different. For £2million the sponsor geets to apoint the governors with only one parent governor allowed, has control of the curriculum, and selection and admission policy, the academy if exempt from the normal rules relating to exclusions. Is this really what we want. The goverment puts up £25 and pays the running costs- it seems the community is giving up a lot for just £2million.
