BROCKWELL PARK ANNUAL TREE DEDICATION

Sunday 5th June saw the 14th annual dedication of 2o trees sponsored by donors via
the Friends of Brockwell Park, 16 trees in the Millenium Avenue funded by Lambeth Council and six benches funded by donors to commemorate the the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Friends of Brockwell Park as well as personal dedications.

Daphne Marchant, Lambeth's new Mayor escorted by Richard Marchant her consort and husband carried out the two hour marathon ceremony on a breezy afternoon.

The event organised by Robert Holden was attended by 110 people and the 50 that finished the course were rewarded with tea and Cake in Brockwell Hall where we were joined by Clr Clare Whelan, Executive member for Parks.

The six new benches by the Clock Tower flower beds are the start of a programme to commemorate the founding of the Friends of Brockwell 20 years ago. Thanks to Friends committe members and others who have sponorded these at a cost of £4,000.
A bench can be dedicated for about £650 but donations of any size are welcome to the bench fund.
