LATEST ON LAMBETH'S INTENTIONS FOR NEW SECONDARY SCHOOLS
In the SLP of 28th May Clr, Anthony Bottrall, Executive Member for Education laid out the admistration's general strategy to improve secondary schools in the Borough.
Two new secondary schools and two City Academies.
The salient points from Cl. Bottralls letter are
Regonition of underprovision
New school for West Norwood ELMCOURT SITE
New school for Brixton , Somerleyton Road site approved by the Dpt of Education and Skills.
He has also commissioned a study of the Shakespeare Road site- complicated by existing use and mutiple ownership.
He is also exploring the the offers of sponsorship of City Acdemies and have two sites available. The Council is negotiating intensively with the Government to build at least two new scondary schools.
