FLOODING IN HERNE. HILL

The Forum was pleased to facilitate a visit yesterday by Tessa Jowell MPand Val Shawcross chair of the London Fire Authority and GLA member for Southwark and Lambeth.
Jim Dickson arranged visits to several households in Dulwich Road and several impromptu meetingsa took place. There has been extensive damage to all basement properties and several families have had to move out.

Tessa Jowell will be arranging a joint meeting with Lambeth and Southwark, Thames Water,Police and Fire Brigade to assess the responses to the disater and what remedial action can be taken.

Tessa and Val visited several of the businesses in Half Moon Lane,
Cafe Prov, where traders were invited to attend, Mimosa, Bolands, Kindred Bakers ,Moon Lane Book Shop and Artemidorus. a large part of the visit was spent in basements.

The Forum has asked Lambeth to clear all gullies in Brockwell PARK
AND THE 25 BLOCKED ONES IN DULWICH ROAD
Southwark have been asked to do a systematic check of all gullies in the area oif the Junction/ Half Moon Lane.
