VELDROME PLANNING MEETING MONDAY 30TH JUNE
SOUTHWARK TOWN HALL 7PM.
The London Wildlife survey of the site in 1997 when a road was proposed completely opposed the loss of the Heren Hill Stadium Meadow a Site of Local Importance for Nature Conservation. However a report gone in this time with their name on it but done by a local firm supports the vcreation of new building and car park. A deferral is being sought to allow for proper consideration of this and also the process is being challenged as Southwark Council commissioned the Project Managers to devise a scheme and shortly before earlier deferred meetings withdrew their name from the planning application. Southwark are also major if not sole funder of the project managers. There would seem to be an attempt to create a distance and impartiality
which is not the case. Copies of 1997 LWT report from paulreyn@aol.com
