37 route
37 buses terminating at Putney Station
Almost all 37 buses south-westbound from Herne Hill to Brixton, Clapham and beyond are bearing Putney Station as their destination point. The recent route review extended the route further but the extension is not yet in place. There are a number of good tube and bus connections at Putney underground station, and at the junction with Putney High Street.
42 bus news and no news
On-going discussions continue about the final southern terminus of this route. The saga rumbles on. Meanwhile the section Kings College Hospital to Sunray Avenue, saved following a massive campaign, is very busy and, at weekends, a double-decker is in regular use.

HH Junction
HERNE HILL JUNCTION RUNNING WELL
We are pleased to note that recent communication with Transport for London is paying off and there has only been one delay caused by the persistent BT fault during the past two weeks. There have been notable improvements ih Herne Hill running south, which has much reduced rat-running through Lambeth and Southwark side-streets.

Croxted Road bays
SMALL REDUCTION IN PARKING BAYS --
CROXTED ROAD
We are advised that the first two bays have been removed from the parking area (on the Southwark side) immediately after the railway bridge -- just after the Norwood Road southbound / Croxted Road filter -- in order to ease the flow of buses and other traffic southbound.

HERNE HILL RESURFACING
THE ROAD CALLED "HERNE HILL" TO BE RESURFACED
Following a very well supported petition by local residents Lambeth Council have advised that the resurfacing of the road called "Herne Hill" will take place in August. The area to be resurfaced will be along Herne Hill from Kestrel Avenue to Red Post Hill, where there has been no repair work for a number of years. This item was "soap-boxed" at two Herne Hill Forum Public Meetings, where support was forthcoming from both Lambeth (Herne Hill Ward) and Southwark (Village Ward) Councillors.

HERNE HILL JUNCTION DELAYS
HERNE HILL JUNCTION: DELAYS AGAIN
Once again we have reported a failure in the traffic light mechanisms at the junctions of Norwood Road northbound / Dulwich Road, plus Herne Hill southbound and Half Moon Lane. Green light phases are again down to 10 seconds, holding up all forms of transport including seven bus routes!
We are informed that it is again a BT fault, and that everything possible is being done: meanwhile traffic tails back to Brockwell Park Gardens and to Herne Hill (Carlton Parade). The HH Forum Gen. Sec. and Vice-Chair, together with a local resident on Herne Hill, monitor this junction regularly.
