HUGE ATTENDANCE AT HERNE HILL FORUM ON 5TH OCTOBER

It was standing room only at St John's Hall on 5th October, when those present (over 150) heard about and contributed on a wide range of subjects including: prostitution in Herne Hill, crime in Lambeth (with special emphasis on Ruskin Park), the proposed siting of refuse vehicles displaced by the new Shakespeare Road Academy School on the Mahatma Gandhi Estate, youth provision, Herne Hill Junction latest and Herne Hill / North Dulwich Controlled Parking Zones latest.
Eight local Councillors and various Borough Officers attended from Lambeth and Southwark.
Don't miss the next HH Forum in Half Moon Lane in late January, and watch this space for more news.

VEHICLE ACTIVATED SIGN for HERNE HILL
After much campaigning and a large petition from the Residents of the road called Herne Hill -- presented to Council by Herne Hill Ward Councillor, Peter O'Connell -- we are advised that a variable speed camera is to be installed. Speeding is a major problem on this road. Dates of installation are to be advised: if you haven't seen one of these cameras do drive southwards along Norwood Road where one is situated just past the junction with Rosendale Road.
It would be very useful if these vehicle activated signs were accompanied by SLOW signs a short distance in front of them.
