CYCLING ROUTE SIGN AT RILATON ROAD JUNCTION.

Lambeth's principal transport planner has advised that the
this sign problem will be corrected Wednesday

CPZ POETS CORNER
The fForum aranged a site visit with Peter O'Connell to Railton Road to mneet shopkeepers and get feedback for changes requested. He also looked at the Southwark and got some of feel of
haveing to argue two case on one issue.

BROCKWELL PARK.

All the staff have gone cut back from 112 to 55. Donald from Vauxhall Gardens has been appointed supervisor of the Brockwell Group along with about 12 staff.
Donald is well known to some Brockwell Parkers and has work done someof the planting projects.

Cycling Sign Railton Road

The lambeth cycling route officers advises that it is the worng sign and should point up the Norwood Road and will be changed tomorrow.

NEXT MEETING OF FORUM
THE Meeting due for end of Aprill ( 27th) has now been postpned.
The main subject will be a New City Acdemy and the date will be anmnounced shortly.

CYCLING ROUTES FOR HERNE HILL

Whilst we welcome safer routes for cyclists we have contacted London Cycling Network asking for the immediate removal of the permissive left hand turn sign towards the end of Railton Road indicating Dulwich 1 mile left under the bridge. We have pointed out the dangers here and the continuing liability of LCN in case accidents occur meantime.

DEGENERATE OR REGENERATE NORWOOD ROAD SHOPPING PARADE.

Good news that Olley's and Steve Cafe have sufficient confidence in the potential of this parade that they are both taking on additional units.
We plan to seek pavement improvementsz including tree planting etc and pavement barrier under the rial bridge.
The resiting of the bus stops is happening.

CONTROLLED PARKING ZONES MAJOR FLAWS.

HALF MOON LANE SHOPPERS will nee to be lighter on theri feet as the current waiting has been reduced from 30 to 20 min and The present restrictions of 30 mins on Saturday have stoped ( The scheme works from Mon to Friday so you can park outside the shops all day Now there is great planning. We will be taking this up with Southwark Traffic

RAILTON ROAD CONTROLLED PARKING
a REVIEW IS TAKING PLACE AT PRESENT

After getting vies from shopkeepers. we are proposing.
1. remove all permit holder facilities at the Railton Road shops.
2, provide all 30 min bays.
3. reinstate the restrictions on a Saturday
4. exmine the need for all the double yellow lines.

INTEGRATED TRANSPORT...........

Sout Eastern Trains who manage Herne Hill Station are attempying to terminate the provision to TFL Bus Passes Travelcards and Osyter Card at the Newskiosk in the station
Watch this space.

STREET CLEANING CHNAGES 1ST APRIL.

All services will be done by the respective authorities. to simplfy management and service delivery.
At present Lambeth recognise Herne Hill as Neighbourhood centre.and provide a special refuse service trhough the centre
picking up bags, emptying litter bins and any flytipping 7 nights a week at about 10pm. THE FORUM will endeavour to get the same high standard of provision for the Norwood Road Shopping Parade.

MILKWOOD OPEN SPACE.

The MRA are pleased to annonuce this week that Living Spaces Fund ( ODPM) have awarded £100k to enhance the regeneration of the park. Works started 1st February. A second phase will no take in a larger area and enhance the present plans.

BROCKWELL PARK LOTTERY BID.

Friends of the Park are relaunching the Management Advisory Committee to provide a public Forum for the development of a Heritage Lottery Bid . meet at the Town Hall Brixton Hill
7pm 16th Marchj to elect a new committee.

AND FINALLY ON PARKING.

With the CPZ starting soon in Half Moon Lane there wqill be two different zones serving the centre of Herne Hill with different charges and hours of operation.

Lambeth £2 per hour till 5.30 and Southwark 1.20 hr. till 6.30pm. Southwark are making good provision for short term shoppers.

PARKING ENFORCEMENT.

If you have any issues regarding the enforcement of Paking laws in Lambeth there is special commission hearings on Sat 20th 11am till 2pm in the Assembly Hall, Town Hall Acre Lane.
and 7pm and Thus 25th same venue

POETS CORNER CONTROLLED PARKING ZONE.

Reduction in bays on Railton Road between Milton and Shakespeare due to constriction of tradffic flow.

SOUTHWARK POLICE

to pilot scheme for use of Volunteers in Policing. initially to help with the reopening of Camberwell Police Station.

JUNCTION PROJECT.

This could benefit by £50k from the development of the former printworks at 89/91 Norwood Road.
The application scheduled to take place this week was withdrawn by officers for further changes.
