MILKWOOD ROAD RAILWAY WALLS

The fine brick walls running the length of Milkwood Road as far as the industrial estate have been in some disrepair for a while and temporary fencing was put up. Railtrack have now removed this.
Now almost the entire stretch has had new railings installed. Residents are concerned about the loss of amenity -the stark appearance of the these railings and the increase in noise from trains. Railings of 2m need planning permission. Action group needed.

HERNE HILL CPZ.BOUNDARY MADNESS IN CROXTED ROAD.

Southwark have announced intention to proceed with implementation of the Controlled Parking Zone to include Burbage(part Winterbrook Stradella, Half Moon Lane.
The officers and councillors haven't got the guts to include
Carver Road.

However in its wisdom a small section of CROZTED ROAD fromthe junction with Norwood Road to the Rail bridge by the petrol station LEFT HAND SIDE of the street only- is to be included. This will create misery for the residents on the Lambeth side and Hawarden and Guernsey.
To protest contact Chris Roberts-Wray 7525 5381
chris.roberts-wray@southwark.gov.uk
The Forum only wants joined up thinking on this matter by both boroughs AS PROMISED BY BOTH COUNCILS IN MARCH.

TELEPHONE MAST AT AJ BULL

T Mobile have applied to erect a telecommnunications mast at this contentious site. The area is to be redesignated for housing in the new draft UDP and a mast would act as further obstacle to rezoning it is also close to large swathes of housing both sides of the railway track.
The case office at Lambeth Planning is Craig mcGhee 7926 5020 and email is probably cmcghee@lambeth.gov.uk.

PULLENS ALLEY SAFETY

The Brixton Area Committee have allocated £8k towards making this passage secure by erecting gates either end.
The lgal process of blocking up a right opf way can be expensive. But under recent legislation areas identified as crime hotspots have a fast track procedure.

TOILETS FOR BRIXTON

The Brixton Area Committee have allocated £10k for a study into new toilet provision for the Area. The Brixton Area Forum environment working group will be visiting toilets in Westminster for ideas. Doesnt it make you laugh!!!

CROSS BOUNDARY STREET SWEEPING.

The boundary roads starting at 1 Herne Hill top to shops at bottom of HH then 4 Half Moon Lane Cafe Prov to Chutney
Restaurant No 15 Norwood Road then to corner of Croxted Road and then to 204 Croxted road. This area is dealt with in part by Southwark and part by Lambeth. I have been advised that the shops 159 to 171 Herne from corner of Carver Road to Dentists at Half Moon Lane were not being done by anyone.
I have been reassured now that these areas are covered however information given is contradictory so any obervations please to paulreyn@aol.com.
Southwark have undertaken to remove pidgeon droppings once a week @ something we have not done before.

CO-OPERATION BETWEEN LAMBETH & SOUTHWARK ON CROSS BOUNDARY ISSUES.

We are at present dealing with the proposed installation of
a controlled parking zone up one small section of Croxted Road. This is a good exmaple of where officers need to be making decisions based on the holistic needs of the area and to take the political boundary.
